Gold Prices in Egypt Remain Stable Amid Global Fluctuations
Gold prices in Egypt showed relative stability today, July 19, 2026, according to Bakam data. The 21-karat gold, the most popular in the Egyptian market, recorded about 5820 EGP per gram. Meanwhile, the 24-karat gold was priced at approximately 6651.5 EGP per gram, and the 18-karat gold reached 4988.5 EGP per gram.
Globally, gold ounces saw a slight decline, with the 21-karat ounce priced at 3581.29 USD, the 24-karat ounce at 4092.94 USD, and the 18-karat ounce at 3069.63 USD.
The local price stability is attributed to the limited impact of global market fluctuations on the Egyptian market, which is influenced by several factors, including the dollar exchange rate in local banks and domestic production costs. The stability in the local exchange rate has contributed to the steadiness of gold prices domestically.
It is worth noting that gold is considered a safe haven for investors during market volatility, and its price fluctuations influence purchasing and selling decisions for both consumers and investors. This price stability continues as investors await further developments in global markets.
