Gold Prices Rise in Egypt Amid Currency Fluctuations
Today, the Egyptian markets witnessed a significant rise in gold prices, with 21K gold reaching 6182.54 EGP per gram, while 24K gold hit 7065.76 EGP per gram. 18K gold recorded at 5299.32 EGP per gram, according to Bakam data.
This increase in local gold prices comes as the international ounce price stabilizes at 4195.6 USD. This rise coincided with fluctuations in foreign exchange rates against the Egyptian pound, with the US dollar priced at 52.01 EGP for buying and 52.75 EGP for selling.
Other Arab and foreign currencies also saw slight changes, with the Saudi Riyal at 13.87 EGP for buying and 14.07 EGP for selling, while the Kuwaiti Dinar was at 167.53 EGP for buying and 169.89 EGP for selling. Meanwhile, the Euro recorded 58.28 EGP for buying and 59.11 EGP for selling.
These economic movements reflect multiple impacts, including global market volatility and currency impact on local prices, adding additional pressures on consumers and investors in Egypt. This upward trend is expected to continue amid the current global economic circumstances.
